The results are out! The results are out! Itâs either your mom screaming through the closed door of your room, or your friend screaming from the other side of the phone. And it starts sinking in slowly, and by slowly I mean two seconds, âOH MY GOD. The results are out!!â
You hang up on your friend or shout back at your mom as you type carefully the SMS format to get your results. You type and retype your symbol number, just to be sure and when youâve completed your SMS query, you realize that you donât know where to send it. You call your friend again, and then go through the whole process. Finally, after a few agonizing seconds, you see your results. Drum rolls please. DU DU DU DU DUSH. If in case, itâs similar to the result you were expecting, youâre jumping around the house, happy as you can be and your momâs rushing to the sweet house to buy some
ladoos. But, if your results are not even remotely close to what you expected, then brace yourself. Itâs going to be a long long day.
Just forget those stupid results, they mean nothing. Donât be sad, be happy. I got even lower marks that you did; see Iâm not even sad. These kinds of assurances have never worked and will never work as well. You worked hard on your SLC, and you expected your results to reflect the hard work you did, and when that does not happen, itâs normal for you to feel sad. For a day or two, a week tops, but if it goes too far than that, then itâs time to shake yourself up, because no matter how important these results are, they donât decide who you are and who you want to become.
The best way, and I say this because it turned out to be the best way for me to cope with my results, so the best way is to talk with your parents. Talk about your disappointment and they will share theirs as well, talk about what you want to be and they will help you realize your dreams, talk about being lost and they will guide you through your uncertainty. And the worst thing you can do is keep all of that sadness, anger and frustration bottled up inside, you have to let them out gradually, because if they burst out all at once, trust me when I say this, youâll have a very very very hard time.
Weigh all of your options carefully; think with a rational mind, accept the fact that your SLC results did not come out as expected ant try to move on with your life. Remember, SLC results donât determine who you are and who youâll be in the days to come. Itâs not the end of your life if you donât do well in SLC, whatever the results maybe, itâs the start to a new phase in your life.
