Brief description:
The Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship program has ended in 2012-13. Beginning in 2013-14, The Foundation will offer scholarship funding through the Rotary Foundation Global Grants.  The Global Grants provide scholarships to fund graduate-level coursework or research or its equivalent for a term of one to four academic years.
Host Institution(s):
Rotary Foundation
Field(s) of Study:
Rotary Foundation Global Grants can be used to fund scholarships and vocational training with sustainable, high-impact outcomes in one of Rotaryâs six areas of focus:  Peace and conflict prevention/resolution, Disease prevention and treatment, Water and sanitation, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, and Economic and community development.
Target group:
Non-Rotarians sponsored/nominated by Rotary Clubs in Selected Districts (found in about 70 countries)
Scholarship value/inclusions:
The minimum award amount from the World Fund for a global grant, regardless of activity type, is US$15,000, which results in a minimum total financing of $30,000.
Eligibility Guidelines:
Activities under Global grants should align with one or more of Rotaryâs areas of focus, must be sustainable and measurable (i.e. âHow will a scholarâs studies support one or more of the areas of focus?), and should stem from real community needs. Global grants must  be sponsored by at least one Rotary club or district in the country or geographical area where the grant project will take place (primary host sponsor) and one or more outside that country or geographical area(primary international sponsor).
Scholarship applicants must provide proof of university admission to a graduate-level program or letter of invitation to conduct postgraduate-level research when applying for the grant. Admission that requires a guarantee of financial support is acceptable.
Application instructions:
You can contact the Rotary clubs in your respective countries (see contact details below) to inquire on how to be sponsored for the grant.  Scholars must submit individual applications to supplement the overall grant application.  Applications are generally accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year but some Rotary Clubs might have specific timeline.
It is important to read the Rotary Grants Terms and Conditions and visit the official website for details on how to apply for the global grants.
