Eligibility: -Applicants for these awards must have applied for a Masters programme of study within the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures before 31 January 2015. Their references must have been submitted by 15 February 2015.
-The awards will be made based on academic merit. Successful applicants are likely to hold or be predicted to achieve a first class honours undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant field. In addition, the academic statement should make a strong case for the candidateâs aptitude and plans for the chosen programme of study.
-PhD students are not eligible to apply for this scheme.

LLC Masters Scholarships
The School will award 10 scholarships to outstanding students beginning their Masters studies in the 2015-2016 academic year. The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC) is pleased to invite applications from outstanding candidates for Masters scholarships for entry in 2015-16. We will be awarding four Arthur Kitchin Scholarships and six LLC Scholarships. These exciting new schemes are designed to attract the best and brightest candidates to study in Edinburgh.
Number of award(s): The School will award 10 scholarships to outstanding students.
Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for one year.
What does it cover? Each of the 10 awards will cover:
-Tuition fees for a maximum of one year at the Home/EU rate (£8,100). Successful non-EU/Overseas applicants will be liable for the difference between the Home/EU and Overseas fees rates.
-Applicants to two-year programmes or part-time programmes including distance learning, are eligible to apply for the scholarships, but they will be liable for any tuition fees that exceed the one year Home/EU rate of £8,100.
-Any Additional Programme Costs are not included in this award and applicants will remain liable for this cost.

Notification: All applicants will be notified of the outcome by mid-April 2015.
How to Apply: To apply for a scholarship you must first apply for admission for an eligible programme of study at the University of Edinburgh. Once you have applied for admission you will receive your University Username (UUN). Your UUN is the letter âsâ followed by your matriculation number; for example, s0987654. Only applicants who have received an offer of admission (conditional or unconditional) on the closing date of the scholarship will be considered by the panel. Eligible students should complete an online scholarship application before the application deadline of 16 February 2015.
