Fees-only Studentships are open to research in any area but applications for research falling within the following themes are particularly welcomed:

Notification: Successful candidates will notified via a formal studentship award letter by 1st May 2015. Please note that this is provided separately from any Offer of Admission and will be subject to standard checks for eligibility and other criteria. if you have not received a formal studentship funding offer by 1st May 2015 this will indicate that you have not been successful in this competition. Where a candidate is successful in being awarded funding, this will be confirmed via a formal studentship award letter which is provided separately from any Offer of Admission and will be subject to standard checks for eligibility and other criteria.

-Upload a summary of your proposed research and any relevant skills or experience. Your research proposal should indicate which of the research themes listed above it relates to, justifying the fit of the research to this theme. If you only wish to be considered for the full studentship, selection of a theme is not obligatory but you will increase your chances of being awarded funding if your research can be considered for both a full âprizeâ studentship and a fees-only studentship. The research proposal should be a maximum length of 500 words excluding references. The research proposal is an important element of the funding decision; you may wish to consult the Graduate Schoolâs guidance on writing a research proposal and/or your proposed supervisor.
