Applications are invited for a One Health Epidemiology Fellowship Program in four south Asian countries: Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Fellowships are available for six (6) participants from each country. Postgraduate Fellowship Program includes study for a Master of Public Health (MPHâÂ"Biosecurity) or a Master of Veterinary Medicine (MVMâÂ"Biosecurity) from Massey University as well as applied research and further training in Epidemiology and Biosecurity. The Fellowship Program will run full-time for 24 months (up to a maximum of 30 months) from 15 September 2014. Theàapplication deadline isà18th July 2014.

Scholarship Provider:ÃÂ The postgraduate fellowship program is funded by the European Commission under the One Health Program in Asia (EuropeAid/133708/C/ ACT/Multi).
Scholarship can be taken at:àFellowshipàProgram being implemented in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Kingdom of Bhutan, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and the PeopleâÂÂs Republic of Bangladesh.
Eligibility: To be eligible for this Fellowship program, applicants must:
-Be citizens of and resident in one of the four named countries: Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Kingdom of Bhutan, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and the PeopleâÂÂs Republic of Bangladesh;
-Have an undergraduate veterinary, medical or public health degree from an internationally recognised tertiary institution and be qualified to practice in one of these professional disciplines in their country;
-Be available to work full-time in the Fellowship Program for at least 24 months;
-Meet the academic and English language requirements for enrolment as an international postgraduate student at Massey University. If you have not previously studied in English at a University level, you must provide evidence of your English language proficiency as follows:
-IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; or
-TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Paper based score of 575 and TWE (Test of Written English) 4.0; or Computer based score of 232 and ER (Essay Rating) 4.0; or iBT (internet Based Test) score of 90 and W (Writing) 20; or
-Other evidence of English language proficiency acceptable to Massey University.
Scholarship Open for International Students:àPostgraduate fellowship is open for the applicants of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Kingdom of Bhutan, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and the PeopleâÂÂs Republic of Bangladesh.

-2 with a veterinary, medical or public health degree and a focus on animal health;
-2 with a veterinary, medical or public health degree and a focus on wildlife health.
Duration of award(s): The Fellowship Program will run full-time for 24 months (up to a maximum of 30 months) from 15 September 2014.
What does it cover?ÃÂ The Fellowship Program will pay all fees, training, field study and technical support costs. Participants will be responsible for their own living costs and arrangements for the duration of the Program. Limited financial support for living may be available in cases of hardship.
Selection Criteria:ÃÂ Selection of the successful applicants will be made by Massey University taking into consideration:
-Academic ability as borne out by academic records and/or evidence of professional development and performance.
-Professional experience in disciplines relevant to Fellowship activities.
-Interest in and commitment to achieving the objectives of the Program, including completion of MasterâÂÂs degree training.
-Opportunity and interest in applying the skills learned through the Program to:ÃÂ Advancing the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases and/or;ÃÂ Furthering education and training of public health, animal health and/or wildlife health students and workers in epidemiology and the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases in their country using a One Health approach.
-Proficiency in English language.
-Proficiency in use of computers and the internet, particularly as required to successfully complete distance education online, and aptitude for data management and analysis.
-Experience or aptitude for teaching.
