Scholarship Description: This PhD studentship is fully sponsored by the prestigious Sêr Cymru (Welsh Stars) initiative and the Cardiff School of Biosciences in behavioural pharmacology that seeks to determine the therapeutic benefit and mechanism of action of novel compounds and gene therapy approaches that stimulate the ERK signalling pathway in the brain. Modulation of ERK has been demonstrated to have effects on both cognition and neuronal cell survival in rodents.
